Iowa running back L.J. Phillips left the Hawkeyes' Oct. 9 game against Washington late with a lower-leg injury, according to Iowa Hawkeyes On SI. Iowa's depth chart has Xavier Williams at running back behind starting running back Kamari Moulton, the outlet reported. The outlet said it is unclear whether that is due to Phillips being injured or is simply a formality.
Colton Joseph ran 18 times for 71 yards and 1 touchdown and threw for 66 yards in Wisconsin's 17-7 loss at UCLA on Oct. 17, good for 15.7 CollegeFFB points. Wisconsin hosts USC on Oct. 24, and Joseph, a steady producer averaging 22.5 CollegeFFB points a game this season, looks like he could stay busy on the ground at $8.2M.
Wisconsin coach Luke Fickell said of running back Abu Sama, "As of right now I would hope and believe he's okay." The Badgers' initial injury report reflects Fickell's comments, according to Wisconsin Badgers On SI.
DJ Vonnahme made the most of his chances for Iowa: 2 catches for 44 yards and 2 touchdowns, good for 18.4 CollegeFFB points, in Iowa's 41-24 win at Washington on Oct. 9. He appears well positioned as a scoring threat at tight end, averaging 10.4 CollegeFFB points a game this season, and at $7.5M he could be a useful piece when Iowa visits Minnesota on Oct. 24.
Kamari Moulton ran 26 times for 208 yards and 2 touchdowns in Iowa's 41-24 win at Washington on Oct. 9, a career high in rushing yards, according to The Associated Press. In his fourth season with Iowa, he is finally getting the bulk of the carries, according to Iowa Hawkeyes On SI. He scored 33.6 CollegeFFB points against Washington. Averaging 17.6 points a game this season, Moulton could extend that run at $9.9M when Iowa plays at Minnesota on Oct. 24.
